Selfish DesiresThey look down at us,
Heavy hearts within their chests,
Watching all those they loved
As their hearts turn to rust.

Then there are those
Whose selfish desires
Cloud their fearful thoughts
With remedied barbed wires.

Where one is in turmoil,
A disgusting lifestyle,
Others are in flurry,
Drowning in their smiles.

As I wake to find
All my heart broken apart,
The night's air within
Hardens my heart.

Where once there was warmness
Now there is ice,
Upon which my heart
Is frozen in its vice.
What Comes of TrustHow does one heal the heart
When it was so dedicated to another
That nothing seemed like a lie?

How does one heal the heart
When it is so weak
That it understands the 'why' to everything?

How does one heal the open wound
That scars the soul and bleeds
A sickly red color,
Indicated only by a tear that falls?

Why does one with a full heart
Always become one used up towel
For others that it loves?

Why can't I understand:
People can't be trusted?
